AMCDE has been involved in a range of power projects, providing consultancy services to the oil and gas industry and power supply utilities. The services have included conceptual designs, feasibility studies, detailed designs and the management of complete power projects on behalf of our clients. We have advised on operational issues, such as maintenance, plant security and availability, and on life extension planning, plant refurbishment and expansion of existing installations. In this latter respect, we have extensive experience of working in existing substations and industrial plants where safety and need to minimize the impact that working on existing equipment can have on power availability and plant productivity are vitally important to our clients.

The company has a track record of producing innovative and cost effective designs, covering layouts of switchgear, transformers and related equipment. Detailed design expertise within AMCDE enables us to offer both performance specifications, suitable for turnkey contracting, and fully detailed designs including plant selection, definition of ratings, layouts, designs for foundations and buildings, as well as detailed designs for all auxiliary equipments and building services.

AMCDE has in-house capability to perform a range of computer simulations of power systems including load flow and fault level studies using ETAP software, as wells as the design of protect systems. As a result of the long established relationship with international partners, Parsons Brinckerhoff, we also provided clients with the most sophisticated modeling of EHV and HV systems, including stability and reactive power modeling, using a range of planning software.

At AMCDE we have been entrusted with the management of substantial power projects, including supervision of construction work and plant erection, quality assurance and factory inspections, site testing and final commissioning of plant and systems. The scope of these projects has included both new substations and network reinforcements. We have been responsible for auditing designs and co-ordination of all primary plant (switchgear, transformers, capacitor banks, etc., with the associated protection relaying, control, instrumentation, SCADA and telecommunications systems.
